and a good friend Kara of www.karacreations.etsy.com has just filled her shoppe with the most wonderful tree people pen and inks and her framed clay spirits, faces, whimsies, etc. which are very different and spectacular in thought and originality.

Here are a few pictures that I recently took at a show with her:

Meet up with lovely Etsy artists in Wilkes-Barre

It was a cold and rainy Thursday, the first day of the show when I heard a little voice, turned around and it was fiber artist Rachel Marie knittydirtygirl.etsy and her Mom, artist Kathy Dobash
She came with her bag of yarn ready for sale during her walk about of the show. Her color combinations are just lovely as with the textures spun in. I purchased one that I have been eyeing up for sometime!

Wilkes-Barre show leaving today

-Display from 3 years prior at same show attending this weekend. Just a terrible display...nastiness
Easy Up not Trimline, not all of my work, wrinkled table coverings, horrible table arrangement, no point of prominence for the artist, nothing on the walls and so on. Truly a first timers artshow attempt, ;) .....

Leaving after supper today for the www.fineartsfiesta.org in Wilkes-Barre, Pa. It is a really nice easy show to do, as in, the hotel is right on the square, discounted 4 day room rates (end up paying less than $70.00 for 4 nights), relief volunteers for artists, artist breakfasts on Saturday and cash awards.
I pray that it will not be freezing cold and damp like it was last year, it was total opposite the year previous and in the 90's.

Here is a pic showing my display the first year. I am prejuried into the 3rd season and will show the growth of booth set-up when I come home. New pieces include columns, podium, glass cases..to name a few in the new set-up.

I met a fabulous artist on myspace, from Hazelton, which is close to where I will be. She plans on stopping in at some point to visit, too much fun!

Happy Mother's Day

The sun is shining and the smells of Spring are all about, gorgeous day!
I am being taken out to our local Kopper Kettle for a scrumptious buffet today. My Brother has recently been hired as a cook there, I cannot wait to indulge.
My dh also invited his Mom and I the same with mine. He will have a hoot dining with 5 women, ;).
What do you think about my new cut?
new cut for the upcoming show
new cut shortness
I have had it this short before, just not for quite a few years.
It will be nice for the artshow next weekend with ease of care.
My Daughters were all upset but, the Husband said 'it looked good', which was a splendid compliment coming from the man.
This is my first Mom's Day without my oldest Daughter, it will be different, but, okay...I guess
We talked last evening before her and a few friends went to watch a shoot for a film that will be going to the Sundance Film Festival. I am very pleased she has all these fab opportunities at Full Sail.

Opera Length Neckpiece finished

Opera length neckpiece for a collector

After a collector of mine had seen the Faces Lariat, created last January, she requested a similar piece except with dragonfly clay beads. We discussed design alternatives and I suggested an opera length piece to be compatible with her way of being.

I also built it to be enjoyed for its color, textures and prayer influences especially for her.

I am pleased with the outcome.

72" long with a 5" pendant drop

It is on ETSY at the moment, if you are curious ;)
