october sushi

End of October sushi with cukes, carrots, cream cheese and fried egg w/toasted sesame and cilantro. The dipping of course wasabi paste and light soy..light soy is a must, including a bit of pickled ginger on each bite. The rice I have been purchasing is a prewashed sushi rice from Wegman's called Kokuho Rose in a white paper bag that has truly improved the texture.
This time I was talking to a neighbor while the cooker was on and by the time I got in it was on warm, bubbly and gooey with the starches kicking in. Over done rice makes it I feel.
The Grandbaby loves eating the pickled ginger!

I just ordered new metal stamps! Here is the robot and vintage travel trailer I recently stamped on a brass and copper disc. Love them, love them!!!! Isn't that robot just the funkiest little tin guy! I am going to have tons of fun creating more geekery related pieces in the weeks to come.

Package Fun

I placed an order recently with www.beaducation.com while they were having a metal stamp sale and requested a vintage travel trailer drawn on the package. They fabulously obliged! I know have 2 from my fave go to companies Tom Bihn is the other!

The Box from a Recent Purchase from Tom Bihn

I asked for a trading card size sketch of a vintage travel trailer on my package from Tom Bihn :) :) I love my bag from them, it is sooo well made and perfect for on the go sketching/journaling/beading/knitting, etc. or even hiking.

Getting Started on Studio Addition

This past weekend we staked out the space coming in at 20' D x 16' W. It will accommodate nicely the large antique sofa, carved chairs, display cases, cafe tables, door displays and church pew from the gallery.
On the left of the small studio is where it will be built, butting up against the brick patio, towards the screen porch making a courtyard type garden area.  This door becomes a window taking this door to the end of the new addition facing the screen porch.
These peach trees, lemon balm and ivy will be a wonderful garden component.  I will plant herbs and aromatics along the path to the front door also in the Spring.
A Spring openhouse will be planned, hoot, hoot!!!
