creating quilted stones

My love for nature continues to find a place in my art. Two years ago I saw beaded stones and just had to create one which, involves using tubular flat peyote and seed beads to make 2 patches. The patches sandwich around a stone, you continue the weaving of beads until you completely fill in the mid section to connect the top and bottom. I made my first one using this method and then after that it evolved. The combination of stone, beads and freeform stitches builds an organic melding of materials into one thought.
