Summer's End Festival
Summer's End Festival this Saturday the 17th of September
-The Elk County Council on the Arts proudly presents the 4th Annual Summer's End Festival on Sept. 17th at the Ridgway Firemen's Grounds.
-This year will be like no other with a full community effort to bring out the best of our beautiful area! The festival will feature a great variety of heritage based music. We welcome back the amazing sounds of
Wyndfall - a Celtic/Folk group based out of Lancaster, Pa.;
Elk County's own Celtic group Fieldstone; Spirit Wing - a Native American Folk group from the Philly area and
Sadie Green Sales - a upbeat, high-energy jug band out of Wellsboro, Pa.
-In addition to our fantastic music line-up we have a ton of great kid activities as well including the return of Middle Earth Studios - featuring their amazing interactive storytelling shows and Marionette performances;
-Medieval Dance and Battle Reenactment shows done with members of the Pa. based recreation group "Meduseld" and
-juggling shows with the Elk County Jugglers.
-There will also be a great selection of artisans (juried by ECCOTA), homemade food booths, new age vendors plus much, much more.
- Booths and tents along, Artists Way Alley, will also feature ECCOTA gallery artists, The Perry Winkler Gallery from Dubois, Pa. and various potters, mixed media artists, jewelers, fiber and stainglass to name a few.
-Along with ECCOTA's Summer's End Festival, there will be a series of other events happening as well including a morning and afternoon walking tour of the ghost town of Arroyo with local historians John and Bob Imhof;
-the Ridgway Heritage Council will present their annual Tour of Homes that take the public through some of Ridgway's most prestigious Victorian homes and
-the rekindling of the popular "Clothes Line Art Show" on the courthouse lawn sponsored by the Ridgway Public Library.
