February is National Embroidery Month

Let's celebrate by trying something new!  

  1. Share your favorite embroidery stitch.
  2. Pick-up a needle, thread and try embroidery.\
  3. Sketch out an original design and embroider it.
  4. Create an embroidery themed gift basket for a friend.
  5. Engage an artisan that embroiders and show them some love.
  6. Finish an embroidery project that has been living in the back of your studio.
  7. Experiment with new materials to embroider on
  8. Take inventory of your sewing boxes 
  9. Find a new use for embroidery. If you usually stitch up pillows try visible mending.
  10. Buy a new cool tool.
  11. Join a stitcher’s group
  12. Experiment with new techniques.
  13. Try going rogue and embroider with no plan.
  14. Create a stitch sampler
  15. Keep a project near to work on while watching how-to videos.
  16. Have fun with a variety of threads such as floss, linen, cotton sashiko thread or wool
  17. Add embellishments to an embroidery project.
  18. Get out your button collection and add a few to a project.
  19. Organize your materials to awaken your desire to embroider :)
  20. Share one of your projects, this month, on social media and tag it #NationalEmbroideryMonth
