TBT Christmas 1990

1. my brother Stephan, husband Herb, Jim hiding in the corner and Bob next. 2. deciding on their next move 3. Not sure what was developing here

Fun in our kitchen with my brother Stephan and his friends Jim and Bob.  These were taken two years before our now 24 year old daughter Thea was born and also the same year purchasing the house you see here.
There were many holidays where playing cinch after a gathering until the wee hours was a thing.  Bob and my husband Herb were the it team, always winning a bid with next to nothing.  Pink Squirrels were the retro foo foo libation this night made from creme de almond, white creme de cacao and heavy cream.  I was too cool using a Tupperware Quick Shake container to mix up our drinks with also adding vanilla ice cream.instead of cream this time.  Bob was running around in my apron :) and what looks like a fight brewing between him and Jim.  They were all good times that are surely missed.

Five Years + Revisited

Many art friends and their open houses, shows, experimenting and beads later here is a revisit between 2005 and 2010.
1. opera length commission with handmade beads/faces and semi-precious beads 2.  forged and folded copper hearts 3. hand sewn original felt butterfly pin 4. Sterling Silver hammered earrings  5.  Petrified Wood necklace house in Bradford  7.  herb tea 8.  BeadArt doll embroidered and dry felted
Focus has changed but, I feel my design push is still the same with palette and texture.  I miss working with felt and seed beads on art dolls and brooches but, the metal is part of my life.  Perhaps my obsessing about what my focus was is affecting moving forward with more intricate metal work.

What was your break through?

National Novel Writing Month 2016, or getting back in the swing of things

I am excited to continue a tradition or partial tradition :) of publishing a post every day this month for National Novel Writing Month.  Just my half a$$ed way of playing along with what I think is a pretty cool yearly event.

Recent post on Instagram from trick or treat this past Saturday of my youngest.  Her art teacher is amazing!  She is in 3-D art for her Junior year of HS and loving every minute of it.
Have a great night, see you tomorrow at some point!

Almost to the end of a month of Posting

Almost to the end of November with two days left and the posting everyday challenge experience over for November 2014.  We have talked about the mundane, metalwork, photography, blogging, food, sewing, throwback Thursday, Pennsylvania, list Monday, ETSY, 'on the bench', Pinterest and The Pennsylvania Wilds.  With two more days, I am excited for it may not seem like it, but, I can see how this November has put me in more of a groove of keeping up with posting.

November rainbows still make me smile with running out to snap a photo every time.

“It was November--the month of crimson sunsets, parting birds, deep, sad hymns of the sea, passionate wind-songs in the pines. Anne roamed through the pineland alleys in the park and, as she said, let that great sweeping wind blow the fogs out of her soul.”
― L.M. Montgomery, Anne of Green Gables

National Novel Writing Month 2014

Looks like I am going to play a part in National Novel Writing Month again this November, in which a  post will happen for 30 days.
The actual challenge is for novelists to complete a 50,000 word novel but....I am pretend participating in my section of the literary world with blog posts :)

Becoming more present in posting is the goal!  Yaaaaaay to being

National Novel Writing Month

Playing catch up with the annual National Novel Writing Month or NaNoWriMon.  For the last 2 years I have set a challenge of posting each day for 30 days in November, for anyone that follows ME knows that is a pretty steep challenge.  I love my blog and this gives me a good reason to be here tons more.  Even though we are 5 days in I am still going for a post a day or 30 posts for this month doubling, tripling or at times quadruple posts :)
tag along charms ETSY
Following my bliss!  enjoy, xoxo

Post 30 for November

new kitty Delilia Marta Vanilla16 by Stephanie Distler
Delilah Marta Vanilla is her name...she came to us in 2007 after our Marta passed on.
I know, I know and do realize some of you perhaps don't think I kept up with a post a day..but, in my brain I needed to post 30 times this month once for each day in November.

I accomplished what I intended, to wrap myself around ritually posting once again.
I am hoping that this little exercise will increase productivity and eventually substance in posting such things as instruction, techniques, documenting, photography and inspirations.

Thank-you for following my ramblings during November!

First of 30 Posts

I am going to play a part in National Novel Writing Month in which I will write a  post everyday whether interesting or  mundane for 30 days.  I am loving the idea of a challenge excepting it gladly for there has been quite a few post ideas in my brain forever and this is a great chance to put them down.  The actual challenge is for novelists to complete a 50,000 word novel but....I am pretend participating in my section of the literary world with blog posts :)
Techniques from the bench, Pa. Wilds Artisan interviews, treasury's, ETSY team news,  recipes, regional photography,  gallery events/features, new jewelry, What's on my bench Wednesday shots and Vignette Thursdays will be resurrected just to name a few subjects to be covered.

see you tomorrow ;)
