Friday Flatlay in the Studio

Included in today's Flatlay are some of the tools, materials and punched out 16 gauge copper blanks that will be made into cuffs, earrings, pendants and charms.  This wholesale order is scheduled to be delivered at the end of April, to the PA Wilds Conservation Shop at Kinzua Bridge State Park.  This order is always very labor intensive but, I have some new ways to help make a few steps not so hard on my body :) :) :)

  • pancake dies are used to punch out shapes for the leaves, mandalas and discs from 16 gauge copper sheeting on the hydraulic press (HP) to be prepared then on different pieces/components
  • concave bracelet form used also on the HP
  • spent strips after running them through the disc cutter and pancake dies on the HP
  • cut strips ready to be bracelets or other blanks
  • urethane to place under the bracelet form on the HP and also used while stamping keyrings/bottle openers
  • Disc cutter used on the HP
  • PA Wilds stamp made specifically for the HP
  • lead weighted raw hide hammer to pop out the punches in corresponding size for charms
  • jump rings made from recycled 14 gauge copper wire
  • small and medium 16 gauge discs for Wee Forest Charms
One of my most expensive purchases and one that has paid for itself time and time again is definitely the Potter USA hydraulic press.  This purchase has not only saved time in the studio but, also energy exerted on large orders. Keeping wholesale prices at a minimum for the buyer with still making enough money on these bulk orders for Stephanie Distler Studios is a constant goal.

Other timesavers that have paid for themselves a time or two are the Pepe bench shear, Durston rolling mill, Foredom bench lathe, Potter USA bracelet former set, Pepe disc cutter, pancake dies, Peddinghaus Steel Anvil  and Cliff Carroll Anvil Stump.

Enjoy, take care-  Stephanie
