Spikey Heart

This 3" artdoll continued to create herself in the 'building' process. Her faux Quartz face is one of mine, utilizing fabulous transparent pc as one component to get the depth and feel of stone.
Many different stitches, seeds, semi-precious stones, Bali silver and of course the dry felt embellishing all sing together in this piece.
If you want one of my copper hammered stands for her please ask and we will talk about price.
A simple one can be made for minimal cost.
They are 3-D fiber art to be viewed as a piece of sculpture in a prominent place of viewing showcasing stitches and technique.

Me in the Gallery

I am in the corner, lol... This is what I have been doing lately. Quite a few new pieces for the Spring using Jaspers, Agates, Ocean Jasper, etc.
Me
These are some of the beads I bought in Florida around Winterpark or the Orlando Area.
I spent way too much money and bought quite a few flowers and leaves made in stone and Czech glass. I created 3 neckpieces out of these Jasper flowers using seed beads for one, Creamy Agates for another and an Aventurine.

It is not the forms and shapes that are most important to my work, or rather the shadows they cast, the color that resonates from a cherished experience, a piece of paper; strong but, as light as air; or a shard of stain glass cast aside from imperfects, but, prized for it's contribution in light to my overall image."

Can you believe it!

Does anyone know anything about this wooden form?

circular wooden form 2, originally uploaded by mossnbeads.

It is about 2 ft. in diameter and very well made. We have 2 of them in the Kaffe Haus that were found in the check room on the 3rd floor of the historic Johnsonburg Community Center. There are lots of thoughts on the what of this piece. I just love the architectural addition to the space.

The Market was a Grand Success!!!!

Holiday Market 0725, originally uploaded by mossnbeads.

The first Holiday Market in the Historic Johnsonburg Community Center was full of energy with the different flow brought to them by the artists, historians and culinary experiences. This is a formula that is perfect for the building and the town with the 'Community House' having it all.

Pictured above is Colton Delong with his 'live art' piece featuring his ever flowing random styling paired with a designer sense of color, texture and movement.

The French Club of Johnsonburg Area High School will be conducting a fundraiser at Saturday's event to help with the cost of their trip to Quebec in April 2008. $5 will buy you a bowl of whole grain soup, home made bread, coffee and a dessert, which will really hit the spot on a crisp, fall day. Orders will also be taken for the packaged soups, which are all natural and whole grain. These soups make a perfect addition to any pantry and also a perfect Christmas gift. Plan to have your lunch on Saturday at the Historic Johnsonburg Community Center and help out the French Club, too.

Two foreign exchange students will be present at the community center on Saturday to talk about their country and culture. Sanja from Montenegro attends Kane Area High School, and Noman from Afghanistan attends Johnsonburg Area High School. Both students are in the United States through the organization American Councils for International Education, whose purpose is to promote international and cultural understanding through one on one exchanges with the youth of each country.

This is just the beginning of many wonderful happenings in the future with the The Town, Johnsonburg Community Center and Gallery!
